1. Introduction

Tailsgate Studios ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This policy describes how data is handled when you use the PDF Downloader Chrome Extension (the "Extension"). The short version: we collect nothing and send nothing.

2. Data Collection and Usage

No External Servers

Detected PDF files are saved directly from the source server to your device. We do not proxy, upload, or store your files on any Tailsgate server.

No Tracking or Analytics

We collect no usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind. Which PDFs you download and which sites you visit remain entirely private.

Local License Storage

Your free download count and Pro license status are stored locally using Chrome's built-in storage API. This data never leaves your browser.

No Personal Information

We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, browsing history, or any other personally identifiable information.

3. Required Permissions

webRequest:
Observes network requests on the active tab to detect PDF files as they load, including embedded and background requests. The Extension never modifies or blocks requests.
downloads:
Saves detected PDF files directly to your Downloads folder when you click the download button.
storage:
Stores your free download count and Pro license status locally on your device. Nothing is synced or transmitted.
tabs:
Detects tab switches and reloads so the extension resets its PDF list for the correct active tab.
scripting & host_permissions (<all_urls>):
Injects the floating download button onto the page when a PDF is detected. Because PDFs can be hosted on any domain, the Extension needs permission to run on all URLs — it only activates when a PDF request is actually found.

4. Pro License

Pro license purchases are processed by our payment provider. We receive only what is necessary to validate your license. We do not store payment card details.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if the Extension's functionality changes. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
