## Getting started

### How do I delete all my messages in a DM?

Open the DM on discord.com, click the Discord Message Deleter icon, keep "This chat" selected and press Find my messages. Check the count, then press Delete.

### Does it work in the Discord desktop app?

No. Discord Message Deleter is a Chrome extension, so it works on discord.com in Chrome (or Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers). Sign in there with the same account; what it deletes is gone everywhere, including the app and phone.

### Can it delete other people’s messages?

No. It only ever deletes messages you sent. Discord doesn’t let anyone delete other people’s messages in DMs, and in servers that takes moderator rights, which this tool never uses.

### Can I get deleted messages back?

No. Deleting a message on Discord is permanent, for everyone. If you might want a copy, export the chat first.

## Safety

### Can this get my account banned?

Discord’s terms don’t allow automating a personal account, and Discord does sometimes lock accounts that send requests too fast. Discord Message Deleter is built to be slow and quiet: one request at a time, 1 to 2 second gaps, regular breaks, and it backs off whenever Discord asks. That lowers the risk; it can’t make it zero. Don’t use an account you can’t afford to lose.

### Why is it slow? Can I make it faster?

No, on purpose. Speed is what gets accounts flagged. Roughly 1,500 messages an hour is the pace. Start it and keep using Discord.

### It says Discord signed me out

The run stopped by itself the moment that happened. Sign back in normally, use Discord as usual, and leave it at least a day before running again. Don’t restart straight away.

### It says "Discord asked us to slow down"

That is Discord’s rate limit, and it is normal now and then. The run waits as long as Discord asks, then carries on more slowly. Nothing to do.

## When something doesn’t work

### The panel says "Reload the Discord tab"

Discord was already open when the extension was installed. Reload the tab once.

### The count looks too low

The count comes from Discord’s own search, which can lag behind on very new messages or chats it hasn’t indexed yet. Run it again later to catch the rest.

### Some messages were skipped

System messages (joins, pins, calls) can’t be deleted by anyone, and messages already gone are skipped too. Messages in archived threads can’t be deleted until the thread is reopened.

### What does free include?

500 deletions a day, one chat at a time, with a date range. It resets at your local midnight.

### What does Pro add?

No daily limit, a whole server or every DM in one run, keyword and files-only filters, and resume after a restart. Pro is never faster; every plan uses the same safe pace.
